BREAKING: An oil tanker Wednesday morning at about 1:15a flipped over on Sunrise Hwy hitting the La-Z-Boy building and also a liquor store before then exploding into flames in Rockville Centre, NY.

Firefighters are still at the scene trying to contain and put out the fire.

“It’s one of the worst things I’ve seen in my 47-year career,” Rockville Centre Fire Chief James Avondet said at the scene

The driver of the tanker was able to get out of the flipped truck before the explosion happened and the police on scene pulled him away and brought him to a hospital. He is currently being questioned by Nassau County Police.

Two firefighters were hospitalized as well with minor injuries and have been released as of now.
